Inclusive Leadership
Inclusive leaders recognize the importance of creating a workplace where all employees are treated with dignity and respect. As a result, organizations with inclusive leaders attract and retain talent and experience greater loyalty and innovation. Therefore, it is essential for the growth and sustainability of organizations that leaders become consciously inclusive.

Speaker bios:
Colleen Moran is currently a Senior Deputy State’s Attorney at the Minnehaha County State’s Attorney’s Office. Pior to working at the SAO, she worked as the COO of Independent Living Choices. Colleen has also served as an Assitant City Attorney, where she focused on civil rights and ADA issues. In addition, Colleen was previously employed as a law clerk for the Chief Justice of the South Dakota Supreme Court.
Terry Liggins is a practitioner of DEIJ principles and developer of programs since 2005. Terry’s cross-cultural experience began as a first-generation college student at The University of South Dakota. He was born in North Omaha, Nebraska, to a single mom and childhood was saturated with adversity, chaos, drugs, violence, gangs and trauma. Completing his Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Leadership Studies and his Masters in Public Administration, Terry is recognized for partnering with startup nonprofits, corporations, charitable groups and advocacy efforts that help to advance a healing and trauma-informed society that is inclusive and equitable to the whole person in all its practices.

Strategies for Disrupting Unconscious Bias at Work
Everyone has bias – it’s part of being human. What do we do when bias shows up at work? This interactive session will explore disrupting unconscious bias in the workplace. Participants will practice research-based strategies to manage unconscious bias and will hear from a panel sharing their experiences of and suggestions for disrupting unconscious bias at work.

Presenter Bios:
· Faith Minnich Kjesbo serves as Manager of Formation and Cultural Competence with Avera Health, leading and promoting a culture of learning, development and belonging that is founded in and reflective of Avera’s Catholic identity, mission, and values. Prior to moving to South Dakota, Faith spent 17 years as a diversity educator and administrator at a faith-based university of liberal arts and applied sciences. Faith holds an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy and is a systems therapist who is passionate about holistic organizational, team, and individual growth and development, focused on creating safe and brave spaces and opportunities for learning and transformation.
· Kira Kimball serves as the Chief Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Officer at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), a business of Marsh McLennan, specializing in business insurance, employee health & benefits, retirement, and private client insurance solutions.

Intercultural Competence
What does intercultural competency mean and look like? This two hour interactive workshop will explore definitions and key traits of intercultural competency. Participants will then practice identifying fundamental cultural value orientations and why they matter.

Presenter bios:
Dr. Naomi Ludeman’s colleagues describe her as a passionate communicator and professional client partner, educator and coach with over 35 years of experience in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion field. She is the chief strategist of Impact Leadership Consulting Group, LLC where she works with clients from a wide range of industries. Her dissertation research and published works focus on the intersection of our worldview and intercultural competency development. Since 2007, she’s been a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI). Dr. Ludeman’s advanced degrees include an M.Ed in Educational Leadership and Curriculum Development, an M.A. in Global Studies, and a Doctorate of Ministry in Global and Contextual Leadership from Bethel University and Seminary. In addition, she earned the Intercultural Foundations and the Intercultural Practitioner certificates from the Intercultural Communication Institute where she also served as a Fellow. Ludeman is ordained by the Federation of Christian Ministries for ministry as a chaplain in clinical health settings.

Faith is certified in Cultural Intelligence (CQ®) and Everything DiSC Workplace®, is a National Diversity Council Certified Diversity Professional, and serves on the Board and Education Committee of Pathways to Inclusive & Equitable Workplaces
